About Us

We are a registered NDIS provider in the the central Victoria region. We provide a range of individualised and small group support tailored to help you achieve your NDIS goals.

Our history since our humble beginnings in 2019.

VSSS or Victorian Specialist Service started with a conversation between friends regarding the lack of quality support in the local disability arena. The conversion was sparked due to a lived experience with a close family member who had recently passed due to a terminal illness and the experiences that person had with their often unskilled, unreliable and unenthusiastic support staff. This gap resulted in most of the care being provided by immediate family members thus diminishing the quality time they had left together as a family.

Together these friends identified there were two major issues with support services in Victoria:

  • One being lack of professional and trained staff who were reliable, engaging, and enthusiastic about their job, and

  • the other being the ability to source, hire and retain quality staff.

The pair set about becoming part of the solution by creating an organisation that prides itself on ethical practices, values-based recruitment, quality services that take the time to understand and plan for the individual needs/aspirations of each person they support and taking the time to match the right support worker to the participant.

Our leader Donna Casey possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in the NDIS as she was part of the roll out of the NDIS Scheme for four regions across Victoria and NSW with the Local Area Coordination (LAC) and Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Partner Intereach. Donna feels very fortunate to be part of an organisation who are committed to quality outcomes for vulnerable people and the overall success of the NDIS as she is an advocate of the scheme and the many positive changes it has made in so many people's lives.

Donna is very excited about the future of VSSS and is busy putting her knowledge and experience to good use to further strengthen the service offerings VSSS provide to people living with disability in central Victoria.

Our Commitment to Child Safety

VSSS is committed to providing a child safe environment where children are safe and feel safe, and where their voices are heard about the decisions that affect their lives.

All children have the right to feel and be safe. Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility.

We are committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children. We have a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. All allegations and safety concerns are treated seriously and consistently through our policies and procedures. Our aim is to prevent child abuse through identifying risks and, as soon as possible, taking steps to remove and reduce those risks.

We are committed to ensuring the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.
